This year, Warner Home Entertainment will bring the 25th Anniversary Edition of Full Metal Jacket to Blu-ray. Director Stanley Kubrick's gritty drama focuses on a group of young men both before and during their excursion into the Vietnam War.
Adapted from Gustav Hasford's novel The Short Timers, the film features an impressive ensemble cast that includes Matthew Modine (Any Given Sunday), Adam Baldwin (Firefly: The Complete Series), Vincent D'Onofrio (Men in Black), R. Lee Ermey (Se7en), Arliss Howard (The Lost World), and Dorian Harewood (Gothika).
While Warner has not yet detailed the technical and supplementary specifications for this two-disc Digibook release, preliminary box art suggests that the first disc will be identical to the already-available Deluxe Edition. That version presented Full Metal Jacket in its 1.85:1 original aspect ratio with a 5.1 LPCM audio track alongside the following supplements:
Commentary with Adam Baldwin, Vincent D'onofrio, R. Lee Ermey, and screenwriter/author Jay Cocks
Full Metal Jacket: Between Good and Evil behind-the-scenes featurette

The 25th Anniversary Edition adds a DVD containing the feature-length Stanley Kubrick's Boxes documentary.
The studio has not yet set a release date for this 25th Anniversary Edition, though it is now available for Amazon pre-order
