Michelle Obama Didn’t Know What a Wii U Was

If you’ve been confused by Wii U and Wii’s similar names, you’re not the only one. At a White House lunch for military families today, U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama revealed that she “didn’t know anything about” Nintendo’s new console and asked a child to explain it to her.

When the unidentified kid explains that she wants a Wii U for Christmas, Obama misunderstands at first, asking “You want a Wii game?” When the child clarifies that she means Nintendo’s new system, Obama replies “What’s a Wii U? What does it do? How is it different than the other one?”
