Charmed - New info & a different look at the box
Following up on our previous news for Charmed - The Complete 1st Season - which featured your first look at the cover art , as well as the first mention of the February 1st street date - we now have additional info and a new view of the packaging as well. Let's start with Paramount's back-of-the-box description of the show this release covers:
Protecting the innocent, vanquishing evil and evil doers, and generally righting wrongs are not exactly on the agenda of every twenty-something on the fast track to discovering what life's all about. But for the Halliwell sisters, this has become their destiny.
Prue, the oldest, is driven to succeed and dislikes the free-spirited antics of the youngest sister Phoebe. Piper, the earthy middle sister, mediates between her siblings. Phoebe discovers The Book of Shadows in the attic and their witchly powers are activated, igniting a bond that reaches beyond petty, sisterly grudges. Prue has the power to move objects, Piper to freeze time and Phoebe to see the future. The sisters must band together to protect themselves, and the world, from the dark, demonic forces that seek to destroy them.
It's an existence fraught with excitement and danger, but these three unique sisters wouldn't trade their "charmed" lives for anything!
Paramount has confirmed that this is a 6-DVD set, and it's running time is at 972 minutes. Some of you have asked if the episodes will be close captioned for the hearing impaired, and you'll be glad to know that the answer is "yes", according to various e-tailers.
Paramount has NOT discussed extras for this release so far. If they do, we'll let you know. One fan-based website has posted talk of interviews, documentaries, games, biographies, and even a lost episode. Paramount 's info does NOT confirm these things, and the site in question does not name their source for those extras, either. However, this same site does not appear to be in the habit of naming their sources, since they have appropriated the Charmed cover art we previously posted - complete with alterations I made personally - and posted it on their front page with no credit given to TVShowsOnDVD.com. Gee, thanks!
