Though the film has not yet made its U.S. theatrical premiere, Amazon is listing both the 3D and 2D versions of Prometheus for Blu-ray pre-order.

Regarding the separate sets, the online retailer lists the 3D version as a Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack and the 2D edition as a Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack.

Director Ridley Scott's highly anticipated return to the science-fiction genre - his third such movie after Alien and Blade Runner - stars Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) as Elizabeth Shaw, a scientist who, along with a team of researchers and the financial support of an enigmatic businesswoman (Charlize Theron, Monster), embarks on a historic space expedition. The mission's objective: to make contact with the advanced lifeforms that helped create our planet. However, first contact does not go as planned, and the trip quickly becomes a nightmare for all involved, forcing Shaw and the other survivors to fight not just for their own survival, but for the survival of Earth itself.

At this moment, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has not released any of the technical or supplementary specifications for each of the respective HD packages. Furthermore, the distributor has also not set a firm street date for the Blu-rays.

The pre-order cost for the Prometheus 3D disc is currently $34.99 (or 30% off its SRP of $49.99), while the 2D combo pack costs $27.99 (or 30% off its SRP of $39.99).

Prometheus opens today in the U.K. and on June 8th in U.S. theaters.

Amazon is offering a reward code that you can redeem by August 31, 2012 for a certificate valid for one admission up to $10 to see the movie at participating theaters between June 8, 2012 and August 31, 2012. Please note that you must be one of the first 5,000 Amazon customers pre-ordering Prometheus Blu-ray or Blu-ray 3D.

Para mí es una compra segura, pero no le vi mucho caso al 3D así que me iré por el combopack.
Excelente sin duda que me ha dejado obsesionado por averiguar todo sobre la trama, el final, y los paralelismos y simbología.

In the U.S., 20th Century Fox Entertainment is yet to detail its upcoming Blu-ray release of Ridley Scott's Prometheus, but some preliminary specs for the French Blu-ray release are already available. Prometheus will be available for purchase in France on October 3rd.

The French Blu-ray release will contain approximately fifteen minutes of deleted/alternate scenes, director's commentary, and a lot more. The preliminary specs are listed below:
